In-Clinic Diagnostics

Whiskers Veterinary Hospital has an in-house diagnostics laboratory as well as digital radiography capabilities that provide us with an efficient diagnosing process for pets. We can process many tests on site so that we have most results the same day. This is especially beneficial for critical illness and injury cases that need prompt diagnosis and treatment.

Our in-house diagnostic capabilities enable us to perform a variety of tests that help identify your pet’s condition quickly and accurately. Some of the tests that we conduct include blood chemistry panels, complete blood counts, electrolytes, urinalysis, heartworm and feline leukemia/immune deficiency viral tests, fecal exams, pancreatitis screening, stool occult blood, and parvo viral testing, as well as digital x-rays.

Some health conditions may not be obvious during an external examination. For this reason, we recommend blood work at your pet’s annual check-up to provide a consistent record of your pet’s health history. Should any significant changes show up in the test results, we would be able to identify potential health issues before they become a major issue. We also conduct blood work screenings for pets who are scheduled for surgery to ensure there are no underlying issues that might cause complications.
